Hello Everyone,
Get ready! Arkalalah will soon be here. I hope that you are able to enjoy the festivities of Arkalalah; the parades, foods, and conversations. I enjoy watching and hearing the marching bands, seeing the floats, and of course all the eats. The coronation for Queenalalah is a special event. You most likely have your favorite events. Hopefully, we have nice weather for Arkalalah.
I really enjoy this time of year. My favorite season is fall. It has certainly been much better being outdoors. Saturday, October 17, was our music director's, Sarrah, wedding. Sarrah is now Mrs. Ryan Pugmire. It was a beautiful October day and a nice gathering for the wedding. Our congratulations to Sarrah and Ryan, we wish them all the best!
Sunday, October 25, we will have a meal after worship sponsored by the Membership Committee. I hope you are able to attend for good food and conversation. It is also casual Sunday, no need to dress up.
1 Thessalonians 4:1 tells us: "Finally, brothers and sisters, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus that, as you learned from us how you ought to live and to please God (as, in fact, you are doing), you should do so more and more." What does it mean to live a life pleasing to God?
One suggestion is to take care of ourselves. Self-care is something we need not put off until all the other duties we have before us are completed. We need to give care for ourselves so that we are able to help others. We are not much help if we ourselves are sick or rundown, stretched to the max with responsibilities pulling us in different directions. We need to think of ourselves as a vessel of God. Take time for yourself. Take time to be in God's presence.
God bless,
Pastor Dennis
